First look inside Explora's most exclusive suite ever

Is it a design hotel? Is it a luxury apartment? Not quite: it is a new way of staying at sea. Explora Journeys proudly presents a brand-new Owner's Residence, designed by none other than…

Patricia Urquiola. The internationally renowned architect and designer is responsible for the design of this new, most exclusive residence on board EXPLORA III and EXPLORA IV. The first is expected in the summer of 2026, followed by the second in 2027.

According to Anna Nash, President van Explore Journeys, close de cooperation seamless on op de vision van gain brand: "Patricia understands how thought out Design emotion can to summon en how de right balance between light, texture en shape direct a feeling van inner calm creates. Dat The Imagineers de kern van our Ocean State of Mind.”

Daar adds ze on to: “For me turns gain om gain to create van a feeling van belong op gain water."

For me, it is about creating a sense of belonging on the water.

The Owner's Residence spans a total of 280 square meters and is located at the rear of the ship. Of this, 125 square meters are reserved for a terrace that runs the full width — a place where the sea is continuously in the foreground.

According to Explora Journeys, design is about more than just appearance. The brand emphasizes how light, materials, and layout should combine to evoke a sense of calm and comfort, something they describe as their 'Ocean State of Mind'.

Inside, this is reflected in the use of warm tones, natural materials, and a clear focus on texture. Large windows ensure that the sea is constantly present, while the interior remains understated.

The layout consists of a living room, dining area, and a spacious bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom is finished in marble and features a bathtub, rain shower, and steam room. Additionally, there are practical additions such as a dressing room, pantry, and guest toilet.

The design also plays an important role outdoors. The terrace features a whirlpool, sun loungers, and a dining table, and connects seamlessly to the interior. Visually, the interior and exterior flow into one another, making the space feel larger and calmer.

The residence accommodates up to four guests and can be extended with an adjoining suite. A dedicated butler team takes care of the stay.
