A SUNNY EXCEPTION TO THE RULE

This winter, Curacao is one of the very few destinations where Dutch people are still allowed and able to travel, especially now that the government has strongly advised against travel and only an exception for Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire... The weather is almost always good with about 28 degrees and lots of sunshine. Ideal conditions to escape the gray, cold weather in the Netherlands. And let's face it, escaping the cold is certainly not a punishment.Online Editor: Mical Joseph

Stay Safe on Curacao

But is it safe to travel? The number of infections is under control and many measures have been taken since Curaçao reopened to tourists on July 1 to keep Curaçao safe for visitors as well as the population. For example, a maximum number of 20,000 visitors per month has been set and all travelers must take a PCR test within 72 hours before departure and upload and carry the negative test result. They must also fill out a Passenger Locator Card and will be contacted regularly during the stay to monitor health. Also, everyone keeps their distance. In curaçao, they maintain a distance of two meters and in places where distance cannot be kept, they wear a mouth mask. The hospitality industry closes at ten in the evening, so plenty of time for dinner and drinks.
