Pink Panther

MaMa Kelly Amsterdam is known not only for its signature dishes chicken and lobster, with Chicken & Lobster To Share being the usual suspect, but also for its decor: the chairs, the table linens, the napkins, the lamps, the pillows, the floor, the ceiling, the bar: everything is pink. Even the sweet bites and rosé served at MaMa's High Tea. How instagrammable do you want it to be! And if you point the camera outside, you can see the imposing Olympic Stadium within which the restaurant is located. Finally, there's the Panther Room specially decorated for groups: completely in panther motif. A feast for all the senses.

World trip at the table

In the building that first housed The Roast Roam, next to RAI Amsterdam, now sits the second location of The Traveller. The concept of The Traveller is the brainchild of Michiel Deenik, chef and owner of the Visaandeschelde restaurant across the street. Together with hospitality entrepreneur Neal Valentijn and Lisa Bakker, former general manager of Visaandeschelde and The Roast Room, he embarked on the adventure, inspired by their shared passion for travel and the exciting flavors of world cuisine. The Traveller South's menu features a mix of colorful, traditional world dishes prepared using modern cooking techniques. From dim sum and flammkuchen to Thai curry and pulpo anticucho. With beers and wines from all over the world, the beverage menu is also one big world tour.

Culinary delights in cultural park

In the former Machinegebouw on the Westergasfabriek grounds, houses Cantine de Caron. After Café Caron, the Gouden Reaal and Petit Caron, this is the fourth establishment owned by the Caron family, all located in Amsterdam. In this brasserie you can go for a quick lunch, for example on the terrace, overlooking the Westerpark; or for an extensive dinner, at one of the tables in this raw monument. Expect recognizable French dishes like "skate wing with sauce matelote, oak tenderloin and topinambur" and "poussin with sauce verte and chicken gravy," accompanied by wines from France's leading regions. Here, as at the Caron family's other locations, it's all about good food, good wine and welcoming service.

Artisanal sandwiches

During the lockdown, hospitality trio Guillaume de Beer, Johanneke van Iwaarden and Freek van Noortwijk (owners of the restaurants BREDA, Klein BREDA and Maris Piper and food stand Pita in the Foodhallen) came up with the pop-up concept Paindemie: divine artisanal sandwiches with the French bread type pain de mie as the foundation. Such as Pain de Frikandel, Bloedworst Sando (blood sausage, iceberg lettuce, caramelized onion, mayonnaise) or the G.O.A.T. Burger, which is made from Dutch goat meat to avoid waste. In fact, male goats are "surplus byproducts" because they don't give milk. By choosing this meat, Paindemie is helping to make it popular. The sandwiches sold like hot cakes, and so since late January, the pop-up has given way to a permanent location on the capital's Kinkerstraat.

High-level dining

The old Heuveloord water tower - a unique piece of industrial heritage and a landmark in Utrecht-Zuid - has been transformed into a restaurant by owners Menno van de Pol and Norbert Zunnebeld. Below is the terrace and on the top two floors you dine at a high level (lunch, dinner, private dining), with the added bonus of stunning views. The sliding doors can be partially opened, which means extra enjoyment when the weather is nice. Good place also for meetings.
