This is: the new villa of Leonardo DiCaprio

We see it more often: celebrities buying other celebrities' houses. Is it because of the similarity in taste or more because of the similarity of their budgets? The most recent home sold was the Spanish colonial home of Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita. For a sum of 5.8 million euros, Leonardo DiCaprio can call himself the proud new owner of their little home. MASTERS takes a look inside the new home of this Titanic star. Text: Fleur de Jong

Los Feliz

The house is in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. This quiet neighborhood is rich in history and a hip place where artists, musicians and actors settle before they make it big. If you live in Los Feliz, there is a very good chance that you will just run into a celebrity in the supermarket. There are no tall buildings blocking the sun in the neighborhood. On the contrary, many charming houses can be found among the many trees. And so is the new charming home of Leonardo DiCaprio. The house, consisting of 5000 square meters is described by many people as quirky and dates from 1928.The house has a history of famous owners, for example, Gwen Stefani bought the house in 1998 with her then husband Gavin Rossdale. Behind the large gates and long driveway, a steep staircase leads you, the guest, to the original hand-carved front door. The house exudes a lot of warmth, due in part to the massive stone fireplace in the large living room and the wooden ceiling. The adjacent dining room has a unique azure color on the walls and the ceiling is hand painted. The azure color is also reflected in the two-story library. With all the different seating areas, you can spend hours here and lose yourself in a good book.

If you don't feel like a book for a while, you can also choose to watch a movie in the family room. This can be transformed into a true home theater. For example, there will be a movie screen from the ceiling, a projector and electronic blackout curtains.

Always wanted to see where Leonardo DiCaprio sleeps? Most likely so here. The master bedroom has a neutral and soothing look. The house has a total of four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Outside there is an additional dining area where you can enjoy the California sun until the wee hours of the morning.
