This is: the youngest crypto billionaire

It almost sounds like a fairy tale, but a modern version: Vitalik Buterin fled Russia at the age of three, dropped out of college and co-founded Ethereum. Six years later, at the age of 27, he could call himself the world's youngest crypto billionaire with 330,000 Ethereum coins. After the crash of the ether last week, it seems Vitalik has just stopped short of calling himself a billionaire. His wealth stands at about 670 million euros with the current rate. Which, of course, is not bad either...Text: Fleur de Jong

High IQ

Vitalik was born in 1994 in the Russian town called Kolomna. At the age of three, Vitalik moved with his family to Canada for better job opportunities.

When this boy got his first computer he became fascinated with Excel. He turned out to be a very mathematical boy with reportedly an extraordinarily high IQ of no less than 257, while the average is around 100. Vitalik also seems to have become fluent in Chinese within 3 months. Vitalin pursued an education at the University of Waterloo, Ontario. However, young Vitalin did not complete this education. In 2014, the 27-year-old programmer was selected to be part of the Thiel Fellowship. A two-year program created by billionaire Peter Thiel that gives young people a gift of 81,000 euros to develop new things. With this money Vitalik created a start-up, a community and was able to do scientific research. From then on, Vitalik decided to throw himself fully into crypto.

In 2013, at the age of 19 Vitalik created Ethereum, this currency was launched in 2015. With 330,000 Ethereum coins, 27-year-old Vitalik was a crypto billionaire, however, due to the crash of the ether last week, the coin dropped below $1,900, meaning that like many other investors, Vitalik also lost much of his personal wealth. The coin's plunge cost Vitalik his status as a billionaire. While the price of the ether is slowly rising again, it is still very low from its record $4,384 on May 11. In general, Vitalik does maintain confidence in crypto, but warned in an interview with CNN that crypto currencies, such as Bitcoin could be a bubble that needs to be punctured.

Support of charities

Besides being founder of Ethereum, Vitalik is also founder of Bitcoin Magazine, which writes all kinds of articles about crypto currencies. Vitalik's wealth is big, but so is his heart; recently this crypto personality donated more than 1 billion euros worth of crypto currency to the India Covid Relief Fund, among others. Buterin made the donation by discharging huge amounts of dog-themed meme tokens, which he received from the creators of the Shiba Inu coin (SHIB), Dogelon (ELON) and Akita Inu (AKITA).Read an article about Elon Musk's mother here.
