High water furniture

Venice's regular floods inspired Italian designer Federico Rosa to create his "flood furniture. He protects his wooden furniture with 'socks' made of gilded bronze, into which he incorporated stylized mollusks, shells and seaweed as traces of past floods - a stark warning of climate change. The stylish but thought-provoking furniture line aptly named "Acqua Alta" consists of a chair, coffee table and mirror. Remnants of Venetian dock piles and, for the upholstery, recycled materials were used in its production.

Bell Chair

The stackable chair "Bell Chair" weighs only 2.7 kilograms. German industrial designer Konstantin Grcic designed it to be produced in less than a minute and with an absolute minimum of material. The chair is made of recycled polypropylene and is itself again 100 percent recyclable. And it doesn't end there in terms of sustainability: the specially designed storage and transport system also saves energy. Choose from the colors Sunrise, High Noon and Midnight.

Skull Chair

In the back of this armchair, a skull grins at you. Inspired by seventeenth-century vanitas paintings, Vladi Rapaport airily reminds the user that earthly life is finite. His 'Skull Chair' alerts the user to enjoy every moment of life. The 'Color Table,' in a length and width of up to six meters, is constructed of multicolored steel tubes and clamps.
