Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town, South Africa

"The pink grande dame of Cape Town! Great hotel with beautiful gardens with lavender and rose bushes, a fat pool and in the background Table Mountain. The hotel - over a hundred years old - visibly dates from colonial times, but has all modern facilities. The suites are elegant, with marble bathrooms and specially designed furniture. Good location too, close to the Jewish Museum and the lively Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Highly recommended: the famous afternoon tea on the terrace.

Water cab, Venice

"When you arrive at the Venice airport, the way to get to your hotel is by a classic little Riva-like water cab. You go first over open water, then through the canals through the old city, until you are dropped off at the jetty of your hotel. The perfect arrival!"

El Chirinquito, Playa Es Cavallet, Ibiza

"Nice place. The route there is cool too, along the salt fields. We always have a table on the beach, so feet in the sand. With a plate of pata negra and a jug of sangria with cava, you're totally happy there."

Signal Hill, Cape Town, South Africa

"This hill north of Table Mountain got its name, Signal Hill, in colonial times. From there, flags and shots were used to signal to warn ships of bad weather, for example. From the hill you have great views of the city center, Table Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and all the paragliders diving into the abyss there. Very surreal to see them take a run-up and just jump off the mountain."

Annabel's, London, England

"One of the most famous member clubs in the world with several restaurants. If you're not a member, you can't make a reservation. You've never seen anything like it! The decor! Over the top with flowers, palm trees and gold. As much as 100 million euros went into that."
