Couture Week Paris: the most striking looks

Prominent fashion houses are showing their latest collections during Paris Haute Couture Week this week. In addition to Chanel, Christian Dior and Schiaparelli, couturiers from Dutch soil will also make their appearance in the French capital. But besides the catwalk, there is plenty of beauty to admire as well: MASTERS lists the most striking looks.

So a Dutch touch to the Paris Catwalk... So Viktor & Rolf showed their latest work in a spectacular show, Iris van Herpen presented her collection with a special collection film Carte Blanche and Ronald van der Kemp showed that you can make true pearls from recycled materials.

Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner appeared front row at Schiaparelli in a close-fitting black velvet dress finished with a giant lion's head on the chest. Despite the head being made of foam, wool and faux fur, the outfit garnered much criticism. Yet another of Kylie's moments during the show went viral. Indeed, on the catwalk, model Irina Shayk appeared in the exact same outfit. Obviously, this was planned, but Kylie's face, however, betrayed that she knew nothing about it....

Here the awkward moment...

Doja Cat

Another standout at the Schiaparelli show was Doja Cat. Her makeup artist Pat McGrath, in his own words, decided to go for a sparkly and edgy look, so he covered her entire body and face with 30,000 red crystals. The makeup artist called Doja's patience and dedication inspiring. In total, it took 4 hours and 58 minutes to craft the masterpiece. The singer completed the look with a matching red strapless Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress, knee-high boots and giant earrings.

Anne Hathaway

On Wednesday, Anne Hathaway arrived at Valentino hand-in-hand with hubby Adam Shulman. For the occasion, this actress also chose the animal theme. Hathaway was dressed from head to toe in a leopard print outfit, obviously from the Italian fashion house. The look included a mini dress with spaghetti straps, matching tights and a clutch with - yes - leopard print.

Noah Cyrus

The striking show by Dutch designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren provided many head-turning looks on Wednesday. Indeed, as the show progressed, dresses appeared in the most bizarre positions; from slightly crooked to completely upside down. Noah Cyrus paid a visit and appeared in an off-the-shoulder dress with various shades of blue and gray. The unique piece is from Viktor & Rolf's Fall 2019 collection.
