Concept for a floating city

Earlier we wrote about the Maldives Floating City which is currently being realized by two Dutch architectural firms. Italian Pierpaolo Lazzarini, however, imagines something bigger of a floating city and comes up with the Pangeos. The concept for a floating city, twice the size of the Roman Colosseum.
Lazzarini Design Studio

The concept of the Tera Yacht takes its name from the Pangea, a supercontinent that existed millions of years ago during the late Paleozoic era. Should the Pangeos ever be realized, it will become the world's largest ever-built structure at 550 meters long and 610 meters wide. But that will take some time... Realization is estimated to take eight years and cost about €5 billion.

"On board" will be room for 60,000 people. Yet the Pangeos can simply sail at a speed of five knots. The roof is lined with solar panels that will provide some of the green energy needed to meet the city's needs. Indeed, on the Tera Yacht will be several hotels, shopping centers, parks, ports and airports.

To take the first step toward realization, the designer has launched a crowdfunding in the form of NFTs. Thus, it is possible to already buy a digital space on the Pangeos.
