With a rich history and over five hundred monuments, Zierikzee is considered one of the most beautiful monument cities in the Netherlands. Even at the beginning of the fifteenth century, the city had an imposing silhouette with city walls, gates, churches, towers and a windmill, much of which can still be seen today. Due to its location on the Eastern Scheldt, the port was the most important shipping link between Flanders and Holland in the Middle Ages. For more than a century, Mondragon has been a household name in Zierikzee and far beyond. With great pleasure and passion, dishes with a Mediterranean slant are prepared by the enthusiastic team. During the lobster season (last Thursday of March to June 15), this is one of the best places to feast on the dark red sea creature fresh from the Oosterschelde.
