World's first biodegradable summer decorations

Summer is almost upon us! How does the Netherlands ensure that the experience in inner cities, shopping streets and malls becomes not only more atmospheric but also more sustainable? Adventure-BlachereNL has the solution. After introducing the world's first recycled Christmas decorations during MASTERS EXPO 2021, they are now introducing their new biodegradable summer decorations.

From sugar cane to sustainable summer decorations.

Ever since 2018, Avontuur-BlachèreNL's R&D department has been working on making its Christmas decorations more sustainable. Using now more than 9 state-of-the-art 3D printers, they introduced the first Bioprint Christmas decorations in the Netherlands three years ago.

But what exactly is Bioprint? In Adventure-BlachèreNL's French laboratory, GMO-free sugar cane is converted into plastic granules. With the granulate, the 3D printers produce colorful, biodegradable ánd recyclable Bioprint decorations. And because of the endless possibilities of the 3D printers, these decorations can be found in any form!

In addition, by using recycled aluminum, Adventure uses up to 80% less aluminum in producing its decorations. As a result, they emit up to 10x less CO2 during the production process of the decorations!

The Quality of Adventure in a Summer's Dream

Whereas inner cities and shopping centers previously often opted for fragile lanterns, flags and beach chairs, more and more places are opting for Bioprint decorations. For example, nearly 200 colorful Bioprint umbrellas are adorning the streetscape at Designer Outlet Roosendaal this summer.

With the endless possibilities of 3D printers, the choices in summer decorations are many. From umbrellas to ice cream cones and flowers to flamingos. Even creating personalized 2D decorations is among the possibilities. In short, everything is available to take the summer experience in the Netherlands to the next level. On all fronts!
