The Art

Each art'otel serves as a blank canvas for a different signature artist. At art'otel Amsterdam, Atelier Van Lieshout, the studio of famed sculptor and visionary Joep van Lieshout, holds the reins. Why did the hotel choose to collaborate with Atelier Van Lieshout? With a fascination with the course of life, Joep's works push the boundaries between art, architecture and design with a desire to create thought-provoking artistic masterpieces that reflect on society while being functional objects. Here, he lets loose in our public spaces with more than 120 artworks by Atelier van Lieshout found throughout the hotel.

On top of Van Lieshout's collection, the 300-square-meter art'otel Gallery on the first floor, with ever-changing exhibitions curated by Amsterdam Street Art, and a spectacular 12-meter-long digital art curtain that takes center stage in the lobby, ensures that art'otel Amsterdam truly lives up to its name, with art inspiration to be found around every corner. An exciting program of exhibitions, monthly workshops and art-inspired events ensure that there is always something going on at art'otel! Have you experienced the new Street Art Secrets neighborhood walk yet? A guided street art tour is available to all art'otel guests every Saturday morning.

Gastronomic enjoyment

Drink and dine at one of Amsterdam's newest hotspots, a concept from award-winning Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, recently named the 38th best chef in the world. Henrique opened ARCA in November 2021 as his first restaurant in Europe outside of Lisbon, and the funkier, more relaxed sister to his other outposts. ARCA brings a relaxed and approachable Portuguese sharing plates concept with modern flavors, Asian influences and impressive cocktails. Live music and DJs on Friday and Saturday nights create an atmosphere you won't want to miss.
