The art

Each art'otel serves as a blank canvas for a different signature artist. At art'otel Amsterdam, Atelier Van Lieshout, the studio of the famous sculptor and visionary Joep van Lieshout, is in charge. Why the hotel chose to collaborate with Atelier Van Lieshout? With a fascination for the course of life, Joep's works push the boundaries between art, architecture and design with a desire to create thought-provoking artistic masterpieces that reflect on society, but are at the same time functional objects. Here he lets loose in our public areas with more than 120 works of art from Atelier van Lieshout that can be found throughout the hotel.

On top of Van Lieshout's collection, the 300 square meter art'otel Gallery on the ground floor, with ever-changing exhibitions curated by Amsterdam Street Art, and a spectacular 12 meter long digital art curtain that takes center stage in the lobby, ensures that art' otel Amsterdam really lives up to its name, with art inspiration around every corner. An exciting program of exhibitions, monthly workshops and art-inspired events ensure that there is always something going on at art'otel! Have you experienced the new Street Art Secrets neighborhood walk yet? Every Saturday morning a guided street art tour is available to all art'otel guests.

The stay

Designed with familiar, relaxing comfort, but infused with an artistic touch, a warm welcome and a fun and friendly atmosphere, with 107 modern rooms and suites, some with perhaps the most iconic view in Amsterdam overlooking the historic Central Station, in art'otel it's not just about a good time and a good night's sleep. In each art room you will find some other unique features to make your stay even more enjoyable, such as the signature 'the art of sleep' bed, luxurious Egyptian cotton bedding, rain showers and of course, artwork by signature artist Atelier Van Lieshout.

Other great benefits of staying at it: access to the newly renovated swimming pool, wellness area and fitness room, access to the art'otel Gallery and first-hand access to the events.

Gastronomic enjoyment

Drink and dine in one of Amsterdam's newest hotspots, a concept by award-winning Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, recently voted 38th best chef in the world. Henrique opened ARCA in November 2021 as his first restaurant in Europe outside of Lisbon, and the funkier, more relaxed sister to his other outposts. ARCA offers a relaxed and accessible Portuguese sharing plates concept with modern flavors, Asian influences and impressive cocktails. Live music and DJs on Friday and Saturday evenings create an atmosphere you won't want to miss.
