GASSAN as timekeeper at Cruyff Street League

On Saturday, July 5th, Dam Square was transformed into the vibrant backdrop for the Cruyff Street League grand final. Amsterdam's best street footballers showcased their talent and tenacity in thrilling duels, determined to win the coveted title. GASSAN, the tournament's official timekeeper, was on hand to support the football spectacle.

The Cruyff Street League isn't just any old street football game. The tournament celebrates Amsterdam's 750th anniversary with a huge event for all young people aged 10 to 15. Whether you've been dishing out pannas for years or are just touching a ball for the first time, everyone is welcome to participate. The tournament takes place on squares and Cruyff Courts throughout the city: from De Banne to Buitenveldert, Holendrecht to the Weesp district. Win the preliminary round and you'll advance to the district finals. And after that, the ultimate battle for the title on Dam Square beckons.

Last Saturday, the moment finally arrived: the grand final of the GASSAN Cruyff Street League took place in the heart of Amsterdam, right on Dam Square. An iconic location for an equally iconic tournament. Youngsters aged 10 to 15, from all corners of the city, competed passionately for the coveted title.

And they shone. Watched by the alderman for sports, ambassadors like Frank Rijkaard, Michael Mols, Soufiane Touzani, representatives of the Cruyff Foundation, and GASSAN as the official timekeeper, the final erupted in an atmosphere brimming with energy, sportsmanship, and pride.
