From rally legend to pure driving pleasure, Alpine has been captivating enthusiasts since 1955. Following the A290, it's now the turn of the A390, the second model in the ambitious "Dream Garage." And that dream will become a reality at MASTERS EXPO, where the Dutch public will have the opportunity to admire the A390 up close for the first time.
The Alpine A390 isn't just any electric car; it's a sporty all-rounder that's equally at home on a winding mountain road or the highway. The model will be on display in the Netherlands for the first time at MASTERS EXPO.
The A390 is fully electric, seats five, and has a spacious 532-liter trunk. Not a compact two-seater, then, but a fully-fledged car suitable for everyday use. Yet it remains true to the sporty spirit of Alpine, the French brand known for decades for its lightweight and agile cars.
Underneath the car are three electric motors, working together to provide extra grip and power. This makes for a smooth and stable ride, even when you're pushing hard. In the fastest trim level (the GTS), it sprints to 100 kilometers per hour in 3,9 seconds. But the A390 isn't just about speed. Alpine has paid close attention to how the car feels on the road: direct, nimble, and well-balanced.
Form follows feeling
The design is bold, but never overdone. Clean lines, a slightly longer roofline, and a striking lighting design with illuminated triangles at the front; Alpine itself poetically calls "Cosmic Dust." Look closely, and you'll discover subtle nods to the past, such as the silhouette of the classic A110, which adorns the windshield in miniature.
Inside, you'll find an interior that cleverly combines sportiness and tranquility. No overabundance of screens, but precisely what you need. The seats are sportily shaped and upholstered in leather or Alcantara, depending on the trim level. And then there's the Devialet audio system; a collaboration with the French audio brand that's also making a big impression in the world of hi-fi. Whether you're listening to music or activating the digital engine sound, it all sounds convincing.
The battery, good for a range of up to 555 kilometers, is French-made, just like the rest of the car. Charging is quick: from 15 to 80 percent in about 25 minutes with a fast charger.
And in terms of production, the fastback remains true to its roots. Everything about this car comes from France: the engines, the battery modules, the assembly line in Dieppe; even the Michelin tires were specially developed for this car and bear their own Alpine logo in the rubber.
