5x best outdoor sports according to MASTERS

Now that the longer evenings have arrived again and temperatures continue to rise, we are getting out of our living rooms more and more often. And with summer approaching, we could also use some sports in our lives again. With the opening of gyms also still a while away, outdoor sports are more popular than ever. MASTERS sprints outside and lists five outdoor sports with beautiful locations.Text: Patrick Stoffer

Golf at The Duke Club, Nistelrode

Golf club in your hand, address and tee off that ball. Then, of course, hope you score that hole-in-one. Golf is becoming an increasingly popular sport in corona time, which of course you must play at one of the most beautiful clubs in the Netherlands. Work on your handicap at The Duke Club in Nistelrode and measure yourself against golf legend Tiger Woods.

Tennis at Tennis Club Park Marlot, Wassenaar

Enjoy an hour of doubles (singles is of course also possible) with friends and then evaluate the game on the terrace of Park Marlot in Wassenaar. The rural tennis court between The Hague and Wassenaar is hidden in the greenery. Once you've pummeled your opponent(s), let them treat you to victory at Brasserie Checkpoint Charlie along the tennis court.

Padel at Peakz Padel, Amsterdam

Tennis and squash have been put through the blender and the emerging sport of padel has emerged. And a lot of Dutch people have taken up padel. You can play on one of the outdoor courts throughout the country. Peakz Padel locations can be found in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Zwolle and Groningen. You cannot become a member of the club. You just pay per pot, so you are not stuck with anything.

Swimming at SportPlaza Mercator, Amsterdam

Did you know that while swimming you use almost every muscle in your entire body? And that you burn about 650 calories with an hour of swimming? Reason enough, then, to dive straight into the pool and spend an hour breast-crawling through the water. This outdoor swimming pool in Amsterdam overlooks the accompanying, completely overgrown sports hall. So score a season ticket soon and be summer-ready!Photo: VenhoevenCS

Boules, everywhere

Still looking for a slightly quieter sport? Then go play petanque. If you think that only the very old do this sport, you are completely wrong. For both young and old, it is a competitive sport and best of all: you can do it anywhere! As long as you own a set of steel balls, a wooden ball and a rangefinder for the real fanatics among us.
