The Queen's Gambit

Everyone these days is talking about the enchanting series The Queen's Gambit. Actress Anya Taylor plays the role of Elisabeth Harmon, a chess prodigy of the 1950s and 1960s. Elisabeth, or Beth, loses her mother after a car accident and ends up in an orphanage at the age of seven. She doesn't have a loving time there, but soon math prodigy Beth discovers that she is amazingly good at chess. The orphanage caretaker teaches Beth the tricks of the trade. When Beth is adopted after several years, she continues her chess career and becomes world famous. Due to unprocessed childhood traumas, addictions lurk and eventually she loses herself in the world of chess, booze and drugs. The Queen's Gambit is an insane series that you will want to binge watch immediately .
